Induction Service for Mrs Jackson
23/09/2019

On Friday, we welcomed our new headteacher, Mrs Gill Jackson, in a celebration service in the school’s historic chapel.  Mrs Jackson was joined by staff, governors and guests along with all the children who have also just joined the school in Year 7.   The service was led by Bishop Jill Duff, Bishop of Lancaster who welcomed Mrs Jackson and the new pupils.  In her address Bishop Jill spoke of the importance of each individual, even within a large organisation.  She told the children “you are unique, there has never been anyone like you and you have been loved by God since the beginning of time.”

Mrs Jackson said “it was a lovely service on a lovely day.  It was particularly good to have our new Year 7 pupils with me, as we are all finding our feet together.  Ripley has a long tradition of providing an excellent education to the young people of Lancaster, and I look forward to being part of that continuing tradition.  Since I arrived at Ripley I’ve been so impressed by the strengths of the teaching staff at the school and their passion and commitment to doing the very best for our pupils and students.”

Mrs Jackson, who is a National leader of Education, has come to Ripley from Archbishop Temple School in Preston, where she has been headteacher for the past seven years.
